8th edition of Ayurveda Day: Discussion program for cooperation in Ayurveda between Nepal and India
Kathmandu: The Embassy of India Kathmandu has successfully organized a discussion program on enhancing cooperation in Ayurveda as part of the 8th Ayurveda Day celebrations.
Representatives from the Government of Nepal (GoN), the Ayurveda Doctors Association of Nepal (ADAN), and the Ayush industry attended the event. Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) Prasanna Shrivastava outlined initiatives including knowledge exchange and capacity building in Ayurveda cooperation between Nepal and India.
Dr. Vasudev Upadhyay, DG (Ayurveda & Alternative Medicine), GoN highlighted GoN’s initiatives for Ayurveda promotion. Harkirat Singh Bedi of Dabur Nepal shared the industry perspective and insights into Dabur‘s sustainable herb supply chain in Nepal. The practitioner’s perspective from Dr. Shyam Babu Yadav, President, of ADAN, emphasized Ayurveda’s integral role in Nepal’s medicine.
The world aligning with the Indian G20 Presidency theme, ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ the 8th Ayurveda Day on November 10 focuses on ‘Ayurveda for One Health – Ayurveda for everyone on every day.’ DCM Srivastava said, this year Ayurveda Day slogan ” Vasudev Kutumba”   matches with India’s host of the G-20 summit.

Likewise, the Nepal Government Director General of Ayurveda and Alternative Medicine Department of the Ministry of Health and Population highlighted the government’s initiative to promote Nepal Ayurveda.

Durbar Nepal Head of Business Shree Harkirat Singh Vedi expressed his views on the industry by saying the supply chain developed through a collection of Nepal’s herbs which resulted in opportunities for locals in herbs cultivation. Similarly, Nepal’s Ayurveda President of the Medical Association Dr Shyambabu Yadav said  Ayurvedic medicine in Nepal is a major part of informing its history.
