President's amnesty canceled; Regal to be imprisoned again

Kathmandu: The Supreme Court has canceled the amnesty, given by the President, of Yograj Dhakal ‘Regal.’

The joint bench of judges Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada, Sapna Pradhan Malla, and Kumar Chudal canceled the amnesty of Regal.

Chetan Manandhar’s widow wife Bharati Sherpa (Manandhar) had filed writ petitions in the Supreme Court against Regal’s amnesty. Regal had murdered her husband in Nepalgunj.

Regal was serving life imprisonment. But President Ram Chandra Paudel had given amnesty to Regal on Constitution Day. The Court issued the order to arrest Regak immediately.

Just after hearing the judgment, Bharati fainted. She was taken to the Bir Hospital. Her treatment is going on.
