Full hearing on writ petitions against Regal’s amnesty

Kathmandu: A full hearing over the writ petitions of Bharati Sherpa has started at the Supreme Court. Bharati filed writ petitions against her husband’s murderer Yograj Dhaka ‘Regal’, who was given amnesty by the government.

Full hearing writ petitions in the presence of Chief Justice Bishowambhar Prasad Shrestha, Judges Anand Mohan Bhattarai, and Kumar Regmi were started. Earlier, the Court had ordered the opposition to give a written reply within 7 days on 5th October (Ashoj 18).

The court ordered to send a writ to the Home Ministry to provide security to petitioner Bharati Sherpa and her family until the announcement of the final judgment over the writ.

Judge Sharma asked for the original document associated with Regal that resulted in his release.  The court has taken this petition seriously. It has ordered the attorney general to attend the debate.
