Weather: Possibility of heavy rainfall at few places in some provinces

Kathmandu: Presently, the axis of the monsoon low-pressure trough is in its normal position.

Rainfall is taking place in most of the places of the country at present also due to the influence of the low-pressure domain in areas around Jharkhand of India, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The weather is partly to generally cloudy throughout the country and light to moderate rainfall is taking place at some places in Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and a few places in Koshi and Bagmati provinces at present. Light rain has been taking place in Kathmandu since the morning of today.

The weather will be partly to generally cloudy throughout the country in the afternoon with chances of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at some places of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces and a few places of the rest of the provinces.

There is also the possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two places in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

Similarly, there are chances of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at some places of Koshi, Madhes, and Bagmati provinces and one or two places of the rest of the provinces tonight. There is also the possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two places in Koshi province.

Likewise, on Thursday, there are chances of light to moderate rainfall along with thunder and lightning at a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces and one or two places in the rest of the provinces, the Division said.
