4 leaders aspirants to become chairperson, Strong possibility of competition between Dhakal and Khatiwada

Kathmandu: The CPN(UML) Koshi Province Convention has begun on Friday.

4 leaders have expressed their aspiration to take leadership of the Province from the convention. CPN(UML) Leader Tulsi Neupane is one of those leaders to be part of the league of chairpersons through this convention. Neupane is fighting for his second tenure as the chairperson. 

Neupane claims himself as the deserving candidate for the chairperson although he belonged to the alliance of Madhav Kumar Nepal. Although Nepal moved to Unified Socialist, Neupane stayed in the CPN-UML party. 

Likewise, another strong candidate for chairman is Binod Dhakal. Dhakal, who is close to Former President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, had led Morang UML as Chairperson two times.

Similarly, Ghanshyam Khatiwada is also competing for Chairperson. Khatiwada was also part of Madhav Kumar Nepal’s alliance. Khatiwada was defeated by Dhakal in the sixth convention of UML in Morang. 

Tikaram Chemjong extensively lobbied for the Province Chairperson. Currently, Chemjong is serving as Vice president of the province. He is closer to CPN(UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli.

Though 4 leaders are aspirants for chairperson. Ultimately, there is a strong possibility of competition between Binod Dhakal and Ghanshyam Khatiwada for chairperson.
