SAFF U-19 Championship: Nepal beats Maldives to reach semifinal

Kathmandu: Nepal has reached the semi-final by defeating Maldives at the SAFF U-19 Championship.

Nepal defeated Maldives by 4-1 in Monday’s match at Dashrath Stadium. Samir Tamang scored 2 goals for Nepal. Prashant Lakman and Nirajan Dhami have scored 1-1 goals.  Whereas, Adam Layaam Rasheed scored one goal for Maldives.

Prashant scored a goal in the 16th minute for Nepal. Tamang doubled the lead of Nepal after scoring the second goal for Nepal in the 30th minute.

Rasheed scored a goal for Maldives in the 58th minute. Nirajan scored the third goal for Nepal in the 88th minute.  Samir scored the fourth goal for Nepal in the injury time.

Both Nepal and Maldives were reduced to ten with Nepal’s Sujan Dangol and Maldives’s Mohamed Iyaan Hassan getting red cards at 35th minute.
