Kathmandu: The teachers’ demonstration has entered its third day.

Teachers started gathering in the Maitighar. The negotiation between the representatives of the Teachers’ Federation and the government was held in Singhadurbar.

Despite this, the number of teachers has declined in comparison to Wednesday and Thursday. Four
ministers had a separate meeting before starting negotiations with the teachers.

A discussion took place between acting Prime Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka, Home Minister Narayan
Kaji Shrestha, Minister for Education, Science and Technology Ashok Rai, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dhanraj Gurung, and Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma were present at the meeting.

Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha led 5 ministers team had a meeting with representatives of teachers on
Thursday. The discussion ended with an agreement to hold an official meeting to end the demonstration on Friday.

The negotiation between the representatives of the federation and the government has been extended due to a lack of preparation. Teachers began their Kathmandu-centric street demonstration on Wednesday. The participation of the teachers was high on Thursday.

They have shown disagreement towards some provisions in the school education bill registered in the parliament on the 13th of September (27th Bhadra).
