Teachers in streets against education bill; Demand amendment

Kathmandu: Teachers, from various parts of the nation, have arrived in Kathmandu to protest against the education bill registered in the parliament.

The teachers gathered in the Maitighar in Kathmandu. They decided to continue the protest unless several provisions were amended in the bill.

Teachers from across the nation have arrived in Kathmandu to mark the demonstration announced by the Nepal Teachers Federation. The federation highlighted various provisions from sections 71 to 88 as the bill for amendment. They have been claiming the bill not being as per the previous consent.

The federation demanded the amendment of the provision, in the bill, of teachers faithfully accomplishing the responsibility assigned by the principal and management committee.

The federation announced the protest pointing 17 points. The government had called the teachers for negotiation. However, teachers rejected the negotiation offer and started to continue the protest.
