Lalitpur: Hundreds of devotees have lined up to worship Lord Krishna in Patan Krishna Mandir today.

Parents also visited the temple dressing their children as Lord Krishna. According to Hindu Theology, the pioneer God of Gyana Yoga, Karma Yoga, and Bhakti Yoga, Lord Krishna, was born at midnight of Bhadra Krishna Ashthami. He was born in Dwapar Yuga.

Followers of Vedic Sanatan Dharma even celebrate Bhadra Krishna Ashthami as ‘Shree Krishna Janmashtami.’ Devotees across the nation devotees worship Shree Krishna and celebrate the day as a huge festival.

The day is regarded as ‘Shree Krishna Janmashtami and the night as ‘Moharatri.’ There are four kinds of nights in Hindu Theology i.e. Kaalratri (Ashthami Night of Dashain), Moharatri (Night of Krishna Janmashtami), Maha Shivaratri (Shivaratri), and Sukharatri( Night of Laxmi Puja).

According to Hindu scriptures, Shree Krishna was born as the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He was born as the eighth son of Devaki and Vasudeva. Shree Krishna, in favor of truth and religion, is treated as an idol to inspire the human community to do good deeds.

Lord Krishna has given a divine sermon to one of the five Pandavas, Arjuna, in Kurukshetra Yuddha. The divine sermon is known as ‘Bhagavad Gita’.’ It is regarded as the holy scripture of the Hindu religion.

On the day of Shree Krishna Janmashtami, there is a ritual of worshipping Lord Krishna, fasting, doing bhajans, attending kirtans, and jagarans (staying all night remembering the lord).
