There is a tradition of celebrating Ropai Jatra, on the following day of the Gai Jatra, to pray for the peace of the departed souls.

Kathmandu: Sa Paru (Gaijatra) and Ghonai (Ropai Jatra) have been celebrated on a grand scale in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Boudhanath Stupa.

Boudhanath Stupa has its own cultural, historical, and religious significance. There is a tradition of celebrating Ropai Jatra, on the following day of the Gai Jatra, to pray for the peace of the departed souls.

The Boudhanath Area Development Committee and Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward 6 have economically supported the celebration of Ropai Jatra this year. Students from local students and various organizations performed tableau and humorous acts at the festival.
