Many announced committing suicide in Khula Manch when I talked about ending load shedding: PM Dahal

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the country head towards brightness with the end of 18 hours of load shedding.

PM Dahal remembered the load shedding challenges while addressing the 38^th anniversary of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) on Friday. He shared his experience of people laughing at him while announcing to end the load-shedding in his second tenure.

PM Dahal said, ‘I had announced ending the load-shedding within three months and heading Nepal Electricity Authority towards profit from the state of loss, but people did not believe. People promoted it as if Prime Minister was cracking some joke. Many even announced committing suicide in Khula Manch if the load shedding ended.’

PM Dahal said that all his announcements became a reality after Kulman Ghising became the Managing Director of NEA. He said,’ The propriety of our determination, honesty, and hard work got validation after his arrival. That became the reason for heading the nation towards brightness from the 18 hours of load shedding.’

He expressed his happiness as most of the electricity has reached the majority of the houses and profit of the authority.
