Police arrest father-in-law for thrashing his daughter-in-law (Video)

Kathmandu: Police have arrested the father-in-law for thrashing his daughter-in-law in Bardiya.

Police arrested Bharthari Chaudhary (53 years old), from Barbardiya Municipality-11, Bijayanagar on Thursday. Police Inspector Sudhir Khadka, from Area Police Office, Basgadhi said that strict action would be taken against Bharthari for thrashing his daughter-law till fainting.

Bharthari had dragged his 26 years daughter-in-law, Pramila, from the house and thrashed her with her hands and legs. The video of the violence of Bharthari over his daughter-in-law has been uploaded to the Facebook page of Nepal Views.

His wife and the local women had asked Bharthari to stop the beating. However, he tried to attack the women who were trying to stop him. Pramila’s husband has been working in Taplejung.
