Construction Companies on protest; Attempt of locking Road Department

Lalitpur: Construction companies have started the third stage of the demonstration.

The contractors attempted to lock the Department of Roads and the Department of Resources and Irrigation as part of their protest.

Police arrested the contractors attempting to lock the Irrigation Department in Jawalakhel on Sunday. Police succeeded to stop the demonstrators from locking the Road Department. Although the Police stooped them from locking the gate, they locked the gate of block 3 of the building.

The construction companies complained that they were not able to give wages to the workers, and banks blacklisted the companies due to untimely clearance of payments by the government.

The demonstrators demanded a concrete plan from the government to make them continue their work. They have been continuously protesting since July 12.
