Former PM Bhattarai for formation of impartial commission to probe corruption cases

Kathmandu: The Nepal Samajwadi Party (NSP) Chairperson Dr.Baburam Bhattarai has demanded the formation of a strong and impartial commission to investigate corruption cases.

For ending corruption, the former Prime Minister suggested that action should be taken structurally instead of booking people individually after individually. He was addressing a press meeting in Butwal today.

Dr. Bhattarai said, ‘The formation of a high-level and impartial investigation commission is required when the chief executive of the country is in question.’ He said that he was ready to cooperate as the Supreme Court has directed investigations into him in the Lalita Niwas land grab scandal.

He said, ‘A little decision might have been taken during my time. This was not my matter. I am ready to give my statement.’ At his party, he said his party was moving ahead to fulfill the need for a new and alternative force in the country.
