Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Centre)’s leader, and Political Consultant of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Haribol Gajurel has claimed Janamat Party to join the government of the Central Committee Meeting.’
Nepal Views had a brief conversation with Gajurel regarding the joining of Janamat. He said that it was not a compulsion for the Maoist to vacant its seat to provide ministry to Janamat. The edited version of the interview with Gajurel.
The Central Committee Meeting is going on. What conclusion do you expect from the meeting?
We are trying to conduct the party in a managed way. Plan the development of the policy and ideologies. We are in the state of running the party with proper recognition. And, if passiveness comes in this phase, we will add another excitement to it; move forward as the powerful Communist Party by adding excitement to the circle of leaders, the public, and cadres. This will be the prime concern of the discussion. That’s what I wish.
In the process of emerging as the most powerful communist party, at what is the current stage while the planning unification with Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ led CPN?
We have already talked about strengthening our party and we are in the process, the continuation of the work is also this meeting. That’s why, we want to establish unity inside the party before unifying with other parties. Our party is not in a well-managed state at the moment. We must clarify the ideologies and policies, make the organization healthy, and then comes the phase of collaborating with other parties. We are in the phase of preparation.
At which stage is the discussion of Janamat joining the government reached?
This is clear. Janamat would join the government. The discussion on the topic has ended. And their arrival would be soon.
What matter is still left to be discussed?
Ministry is required for Janamat. The discussion regarding the allocation of ministry is to be finalized.
Which ministry has a high chance of getting empty?
We have not come up with a conclusion. This matter would be finalized after the completion of the Central Committee Meeting. Then, Janamat Party would join the government.
Maoist Centre must vacant the ministry, isn’t it?
It is not a compulsion that only Maoist has to empty the ministry for Janamat. There might be other solutions also. And, if nothing works, Maoist Centre might be the last option.
There are rumors of Biplav joining the Maoist Center and becoming the General Secretary. Is it true?
This is a clear product of prediction from the media. This time our parties are different. After the unification, anyone can become Maoist Chairperson or General Secretary. That will be fixed only at that time. We cannot predict it now.
