That’s an old photo, ready to face action if found guilty: Pun

Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Centre) Deputy General Secretary Barshaman Pun has demanded a fair investigation of the accusation against him in the gold smuggling case.

Former Finance Minister Pun said that he had no involvement in the case and was ready to face punishment if found guilty.

Pun said, ‘The campaign initiated by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Daha ‘Prachanda’ is to purify the Nepali politics. I completely support this. I have no involvement in the case. Rumor has been spread using my eight years old family photo. May a fair investigation be carried out. I am ready to face punishment if found guilty.’

He expressed grief over the accusation of him in the case. The photo showing Dawa Chhiring and Pun having a meal together has gone viral on social media. Dawa had been arrested in the case. People have started accusing Pun of involving in the case based on the photo.
