Dr. Govinda KC announces his Fast-unto-death to start on 14th August

Kathmandu: Dr. Govinda KC has announced his Satyagraha (Fast-unto-death) to start on 29^th Shrawan (14^th August).

Dr. KC, the activist of Medical Education reformation, announced his Satyagraha during a press conference on Monday. He said that organized attempts were being carried out to demolish the Medical Education Commission and reverse the provision of the Medical Education Act.

Dr. KC accused the Co-Chairperson of the Commission as well as the Minister of Education Science and Technology Ashok Rai of forgetting their responsibility and supporting the medical mafias. He accused Minister Rai of protecting the political cadres as well as mafias, who were illegally increasing the seats of CTEVT, instead of punishing and halting the admission procedure.

Dr. KC gave the ultimatum to the government to fix the seat of the CTEVT, cancel the illegal admission of the students, suspend the guilty officials, formation of a recommendation committee for the appointment of the Vice Chairperson of Medical Education Commission within one week, and complete the appointment procedure of new Vice Chairperson before the completion of tenure of the current one to protest the commission being without leadership.
