Disappearance of Chinese Foreign Minister for 1 month; Is he in custody for loving American Journalist?

Kathmandu: Foreign Minister of the Republic of China Qin Gang has not appeared in public for nearly a month. The Foreign Ministry of China has not even published any notice regarding Qin. International media has been commenting on the disappearance of Qin as mysterious.

However, this incident is not the first one in China. Earlier, Chinese billionaire Jack Ma appeared four months after being socially unavailable for nearly four months. Even President Xi Jinping was one of them. Before becoming the president, there were rumors that Xi disappeared for two weeks,

Likewise, Foreign Minister Qin is believed to be the closest and most trusted person to President Xi. Qin was appointed as the Foreign Minister in December 2023 A.D. Previously, Qin was the Chinese Ambassador to the United States of America for 17 months. Qin was also recognized as a high-ranking official and skilled diplomat in the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Wang Yi had handled the responsibility of the Foreign Ministry before the appointment of Qin. Yi is currently the Director of the Central Affairs Commission.

There was a schedule for Qin to hold a high-level meeting with EU foreign affairs Chief Joseph Berol on 4^th July. But the cancelation of the program was notified on 2^nd July.

There was a schedule for Qin to go to Indonesia on 10^th July. But Qin didn’t go to Indonesia. The Foreign Ministry published a Press Release stating that his health condition was not good. Qin has not appeared anywhere after 25^th June.

China follows the one-party communist rule. There might be three reasons behind the occurrence of such incidents in China.

• First-Government or party might have directed him to stay underground.
• Second-He might have been in a serious disagreement with the leadership and to settle the issue, he might have disappeared.
• Three-His health or personal life might have been disturbed.

Media have been predicting similar reasons behind the disappearance of Foreign Minister Qin. Either Qin is unhealthy or he might have a serious disagreement with President Xi.

There is also another rumor regarding Qin i.e. of being in a romantic relationship with journalist Fu Xiaotian and that has invited a crisis. Fu is an American citizen. According to various news media, Qin and Xiaotian are in an illicit relationship. And they are predicted to have a son.

57 years old Qin is a married man and is the father of a son. There is the possibility of the Chinese Communist Party conducted an interrogation with Qin regarding the rumored illicit relationship or might have punished him.

Xiaotian is a reporter for Phoenix TV based in Hong Kong. She had taken an interview with Qin in March 2022. Xiaotian used to post the picture with her son on social media platforms. But has not revealed the name of his father.

According to Time Magazine, Xiaotian has also disappeared for one month. Her media has not also given any notice regarding Xiaotian. There are rumors of Xiaotian being an American spy. There are chances of Qin leaking highly confidential information to his so-called lover.

Hence, there is the possibility of President Xi preparing to remove Qin from his designation. And the pending final decision might be the reason behind the silence over the issue.
