Kathmandu: Wildfire has resulted in intense heat waves across North America. The Western and Southern parts of the USA are the highly affected regions.
The government has advised more than 80 million people to take shelter far away from the affected area. The majority of swathes of forest in California have been destroyed.
According to BBC, Rabbit Fire destroyed about 8000 acres of forest. The authorities reported that the fire destroyed about 65% forest.
Wildfire has also been reported in Canada. About 900 fires have been reported in Canada. 600 out of the 900 cases are found out of control. The effect of the smoke has also been seen in the northeastern part of the USA.
This has also resulted in the continuation of heat waves across Southern Europe. The temperature on the Italian island of Sardinia is expected to rise to more than 46C.
The temperature has reached upto 49C at midnight in Death Valley, California. The heatwaves also resulted in the hike of temperature upto 44C in Spain. The temperature reached 43C in Phoenix, Arizona. The same temperature was recorded back in 1974 in Phoenix.
Also, the temperature rose more than 50C in various parts of China and the US on Sunday. The World Meteorological Organization warned of the chances of a heatwave in Europe in August. There are chances of the temperature exceeding 46 C in Europe.
