2 Central Committee Meeting to be held outside Kathmandu Valley: Nepali Congress Proposal

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa has proposed organizing 2 Central Committee Meetings outside Kathmandu Valley.

Thapa proposed organizing the meeting outside the valley while speaking during the Central Committee Meeting on Tuesday.

Thapa said, ‘According to legislation, the meeting must be conducted every two months. As per the proposal, the meeting must be held every first week of Asoj, Mangsir, Magh, Chaitra, and Jestha. There is the proposal of organizing two meetings outside Kathmandu Valley.’

Also, the Nepali Congress aims to add 7 lakh new members. Thapa said, ‘This one-year campaign will start to focus on adding new members between 5-7 lakh people in the party.’ The campaign will run between Shrawan 20, 2080 to 31 Asar, 2081. There were more than 8 lakh 66 thousand party workers in the 14th Congress.

The Congress legislation states that the Central Committee Meeting must be held every 2 months. But this meeting was held after 11 months.
