CIB arrests MoCIT Secretary Krishna Bahadur Raut

Kathmandu: Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has arrested Secretary of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MoCIT) Krishna Bahadur Raut.

CIB arrested Raut from the Tribhuvan International Airport. CIB arrested two additional people from Kathmandu in the Lalita Niwas land grab scandal.

CIB arrested Surveyor Dhruv Prasad Aryal and the Head of Samarjung Company, Lokhari Ghimire. The Survey Office Kathmandu had given responsibility for both to measure the land of Lalit Niwas. The total number of arrested ones has reached 12.

Those arrested in the case include Nayab Subba Ramesh Kumar Pokharel and Dev Narayan Maharjan, then ward secretary Shivaji Bhandari, surveyors Ghaman Kumar Karki and Mohi Baburam Maharjan, former election commissioner Sudhir Kumar Shah, owner of Bhatbhateni supermarket Min Bahadur Gurung, land revenue employees Dharma Prasad Gautam and Gopal Karki.
