Prigozhin and his troops depart from Rostov

Kathmandu: Yevgeny Prigozhin, Wagner Chief, has headed his hireling soldiers out from the Rostov-on-Don.

The deal for ending Saturday’s short span of armed revolution in the southern city of Russia, Rostov-on-Don, resulted in Prigozhin leading his soldiers out of the area.

Prigozhin and his troops received a warm farewell from the supporters. The photos of supporters trying to grab the hand of Prigozhin, while driving out from the city, are drawing attention on social media.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko had brokered the deal. Prigozhin had decided to step back with his soldiers and go into exile. The deal was cracked after there was a negotiation of dropping the criminal charges against Prigozhin along with freeing the soldiers from the prosecution

Vasily Goluben, Regional Governor, confirmed the departure of Prigozhin’s soldiers.

In Ukraine, Wagner troops played a major part in the long and costly fight to take the city of Bakhmut from Ukrainian forces.
