Kathmandu: The big explosion killed 31 people in the North-West part of China, Ningxia Region on Wednesday night.
According to the state-run news channel of China CGTN, about 31 people lost their lives in the accident.
The explosion occurred at around 8:40 pm in Xingqing District, Yinchuan. The leakage of LPG gas in a barbecue restaurant resulted in an explosion in the busy street.
Chinese President Xi Jinping said that the required assistance would be provided to the victims and safety measures would be given priority for the prevention of such accidents.
38 casualties have been reported due to the blast. As per the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Regional Committee of the Communist Party of China, seven individuals are undergoing treatment. The condition of one among the seven individuals is critical.
China’s Ministry of Emergency Management, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and the State Administration for Market Regulation jointly conducted the rescue operation. Four medical experts also carried on medical assistance in the accident area.
Additional 102 local personnel and 20 vehicles were added to the rescue operation. The rescue operation was completed at around 4:00 am on Thursday.
