Chinese plane lands in Pokhara International Airport

Pokhara: A chartered flight of Sichuan Airlines has landed in Pokhara International Airport (PIA) today.

PIA, which was inaugurated on January 1 this year, saw the first international flight on Wednesday. A chartered flight of Sichuan Airlines landed in Pokhara from Tianfu International Airport in Chengdu this morning.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kiranti welcomed the passengers on board the Sichuan’s Airbus A-319 aircraft.

Sichuan Airlines operated a chartered fligh to PIA carrying athletes participating in ‘Nepal China Dragon Boat Race Festival’ to be held at Phewa Lake on June 23 and 24.

The Airbus, which carried 130 passengers from China, is the first international plane to land in PIA.The plane will stay at Pokhara airport for about two hours and return to Chengdu, China via Kathmandu today.
