Citizenship bill victim attempts self-immolation

Kathmandu: A citizenship bill victim has attempted self-immolation. He tried self-immolation during the ongoing protest in Maitighar Mandala, Kathmandu.

The victim has been identified as Niraj Kamat. The person tried to put himself on fire by sprinkling kerosene on his body. But, the police succeeded to put off the fire to his body and took him to the Bir hospital. He has been injured.

The citizenship bill victims had been demanding the execution of the bill. Former President Bidhya Devi Bhandari halted the bill. President Ram Chandra Paudel authenticated the same bill.

The Supreme Court gave the decision not to execute the authenticated bill immediately. This made victims furious.
