Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has requested the protestors, demanding the prevention of the pollution of the Sirsiya River, to come to Singha Durbar for discussion.
Minister Shrestha, said that the government was positive about the demands put forward by the demonstrators, who went to visit the demonstration site, Mati Ghar, on Wednesday. He said that the government was serious about finding an immediate and sustainable solution to keep the water of the Sirsiya River clean.

Shrestha gave a commitment that there would be a discussion between stakeholders’ ministries as it was also a problem for the nation.
The protestors have been demonstrating to address the pollution in Sirsiya due to the direct dumping of industrial garbage in the river. They even showed the polluted water of the river to Minister Shrestha.
The demonstrators walked through Birgunj, Simara, Hetauda, Narayangadh, and Mugling to reach Kathmandu on Jestha 14. They have been demonstrating daily since their arrival.

Likewise, Minister Shrestha even showed commitment to the co-operatives victims, protesting in Maitighar. He assured the victims that the government will take appropriate steps to give justice to the victims.
Shrestha said that the government was aware of the problems faced by the account holders of the cooperative. He mentioned the formation of a committee to solve the problem of the account holders.
