Japan announces sanction on Russia

Kathmandu: Japan has made an announcement of more sanctions on Russia.

Japan decided to freeze the properties of 78 groups and 17 individuals, incoordination with other member countries, after the Group of Seven (G7) countries.

According to a foreign ministry statement released on Friday, Japan would freeze the properties of 80 Russian entities including military-linked research labs.

Japan will also be halting the assistance of the engineering and construction services in Russia. The trade ministry of Japan has mentioned revealing the details later in a statement.

Tokyo’s top government spokesperson, Hirokazu Matsuno (Chief Cabinet Secretary) said that Japan had never accepted the nuclear menace of Russia as it was the only country that had suffered atomic bombing during the time of war.

France, the United Kingdom, the United States, and other leaders of the G7 summit had been positive about supporting Ukraine with further military assistance and sanction on Russia.
