‘No one can be arrested on the basis of an accusation in social media, the investigation is going on’ : Narayan Kaji Shrestha

Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister, as well as Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, said that the investigation of even other people involved in the fake Bhutanese refugee scandal was going on but no one could be arrested on the basis of the accusation in the social media.

Shrestha talked about the investigation when the National Youth Association, the fraternal organization of the CPN (UML), submitted a memorandum demanding a fair investigation in the case today.

He said, ‘No one can be arrested just on the basis of someone’s statement and accusation in social media. Additional investigation is going on in this case. No guilty will escape. ‘

He accepted political parties were unable to give life-changing experiences to the people. Shrestha said that the journey to prosperity was near impossible unless the eradication of the network of corruption and commission.

Shrestha said, ‘There is a need for controlling the corruption effectively. The act of generating income by taking people, converting them from citizen to refugee, to a foreign country is not acceptable.’

Shrestha said that the government was prone to giving a life-changing experience to people. He said that he had given directions to the police to investigate without any political influence and unwanted pressure.

Shrestha added, ‘The court will make its final decision in this case. We have to wait for the decision. We are taking space as per the development of the investigation. I have already given directions to the police for conducting a fair investigation. ‘
