Kathmandu: The Supreme Court has upheld the decision of Resham Chaudhary’s life imprisonment in the Tikapur carnage case.
The Supreme Court Justices Dr. Ananda Mohan Bhattarai and Nahkul Subedi decided the life imprisonment for Chaudhary.
The Supreme Court has upheld the decision of the Dipayal High Court.
The founder of Nagarik Unmukti Party Chaudhary had appealed against the decision of the High Court.
Nepal Police SSP Laxman Neupane, 7 security personnel, and a child lost their life during the Tharuhut Tharuwan strike in Kailali, Tikapur.in Bhadra, 2072. Chaudhary is regarded as the mastermind of the incident.
Previously, Kailali District Court had also decided the punishment of life imprisonment for Chaudhary.
Likewise, another guilty in the same case, Laxman Chaudhary had received three years of imprisonment. But the High Court had also given the punishment of life imprisonment to Laxman.
The Supreme Court has upheld the decision of the District Court in the case of Laxman.
