Kathmandu: The statement of former home minister and Nepal Congress leader Balkrishna Khand has begun.
Khand reached the office of the Public Prosecutor for giving his statement.
Achyut Neupane, the head of the office, said that statement taking process has begun.
Khand was arrested in Baisakh 27 on suspicion of involvement in the fake Bhutanese refugee scandal. The Kathmandu District Court gave the permission to keep 12 including Khand for additional 4 days for the investigation of the case on Sunday.
Similarly, CPN (ML)n Secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi was also arrested on Sunday evening. This made a total 13 people arrested in the case.
Indrajit Rai, the advisor of former home minister Ram Bahadur Thapa and Thapa’s son Pratik have been arrested in the case. Former Speaker Ang Tawa Sherpa, and Indrajit’s son, Niran Rai are absconding.
