Fumio Kishida reaches Seoul for strengthening bilateral relationship

Kathmandu: Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida has reached Seoul to meet South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol on Sunday. Kishida has visited South Korea for strengthening the bilateral relationship between the countries.

Kishida has become the first Japanese leader to pay a visit to Seoul in the past 12 years. President Yoon initiated the steps for settling down the historical disputes between Japan-South Korea, during his visit to Tokyo in March.

Kishida, while going to Seoul, said that he hoped of having an open exchange of ideas with President Yoon for establishing a trustworthy relationship.

He added that he was in the process of building the level of communications for strengthening the defense and finance sector.

The officials of Japan and South Korea said that Kishida and Yoon would discuss the nuclear program of North Korea. The discussion seems to also revolve around the appropriate response regarding North Korea’s nuclear threats.

They will be also discussing economic security between the two nations.
