Rabi Lamichhane re-elected from Chitwan-2

Kathmandu: Rastriya Swatantra Party’s President Rabi Lamichhane has been re-elected to the House of Representatives from Chitwan-2.

According to final result of the vote count, Lamichhane won with 54,276 votes. While his closest rival Jit Narayan Shrestha of the Nepali Congress got 11,251 votes and Ram Prasad Neupane of the UML got 10,935 votes.

Lamichhane, who was previously elected to the House of Representatives from Chitwan-2, lost his status as the lawmaker following the Supreme Court verdict in the citizenship case.

Lamichhane has also managed to increase his vote margin by five times in comparison to threefold vote margin of the previous election. He had secured 49,300 votes in the last election while his rival got 14,988 votes.

On the re-election of Lamichhane, his rivals Jeet Narayan Shrestha and Ram Prasad Neupane said that the voters are decisive in the election and expressed their commitment to more active involvement with the lives of people.
