Kathmandu: The capital of Nepal, Kathmandu, has been ranked as the seventh most polluted city in the world.
The latest pollution index has placed Kathmandu in the seventh position of the most polluted cities in the world. It means the environment of the city is harmful for human health due to pollution.
While China’s Hangzhou is at the top of the list.
The level of pollution in Kathmandu has gone up as a result of rise in wildfire and conflagration-related incidents across the country. Likewise, the exhaust gas emitted from vehicles has also polluted the air.
The country has not seen any rainfall in recent days, and it has led to smog in the atmosphere. Meteorologist Prativa Manandhar informed that the concentration of pollutants in the air has caused thick smog in the air.
According to Manandhar, rainfall is unlikely in the next couple of days, and this will further increase pollution.
