Government promotes 4 DIGs to AIGs

Kathmandu: The government has promoted 4 Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) to the post of Additional Inspector General (AIG).

The cabinet meeting decided to promote the DIGs as per the recommendation of the Promotion Committee.

DIG Sandeep Bhandari, Sudeep Giri, Meera Chaudhary, and Tek Bahadur Tamang have been promoted in AIG. All four AIGs will be posted in the Department of Works, Department of Criminal Investigation, Department of Human Resources, and Department of Provincial Coordination.

The new 4 AIGs were among the 17 Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) to be promoted to the post of DIGs. The remaining 8 SSPs were promoted to the post of AIG. Basant Bahadur Kunwar was promoted to Inspector General of Police (IGP) during the same time.

Previously, Tek Prasad Rai, Deepak Thapa, Shyam Lal Gyawali, and Kiran Bajracharya were promoted to the post of AIG. They have taken responsibility for their allocated postings.
