6 people arrested for fooling relatives of dead migrant workers

Kathmandu: Police have arrested a gang of frauds, which had been fooling people in the name of providing insurance amount of dead migrant workers in a foreign land.

Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office of Nepal Police revealed the faces of 6 people involved in the activity, organizing a press meeting, on Friday.

The gang had been found providing only a few percentages of the total received insurance money of dead migrant workers to the relatives. The gang used to keep the rest of the money to itself.

Police have arrested 41 years old Ram Bahadur Tamang, 34 years old Binod Lama, 40 years Dik Bahadur Malla, 35 years old Rabindra Moktan, 35 years old, Prakash Bahadur Gole, and 39 years old Rudraman Gole.

Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Manoj KC said that the arrested 6 people possessed citizenship, passport, birth certificate, death certificate, marriage certificates, recommendation letters from ward offices of various people, letter pads of insurance companies, and other official documents.

Police arrested them on April 6 (Chaitra 23).
