Government unveils common minimum program

Kathmandu: The coalition government has unveiled its common minimum program today with a commitment to sustainable peace, good governance, development and prosperity.

Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma made the common minimum program (CMP) public today in the presence of prime minister Puspa Kamal Dahal and others ministers at Singhdurbar.

Unveiling the CMP of the coalition government, Sharma said that government is fully committed to sustainable peace, good governance, development and prosperity by embracing all agreements and accords forged between all political parties and the state, including the Comprehensive Peace Accord.

The government has prioritized nine areas in CMP, i.e., safeguarding of the constitution and amendment (if necessary), development, consolidation of Federal Democratic Republic, implementation of federalism, and transformation and strengthening of national economy through policy, structural and functional improvement.

Likewise, among other things, the government has given the high priority to build up social system based on equality, freedom and justice by eliminating all forms of existing discrimination.

Quality service delivery, improvement of governance system to guarantee good governance and good conduct, probe into corruption cases to take stern action, implementation of agreements with various stakeholders and remaining tasks to complete peace process, production-oriented economy, improvement in supply chain, provision of equitable distribution, expenditure reduction, efficient and hassle-free public administration, necessary amendment of laws to make loan sharking punishable as well as maintaining environmental balance through reduction of risks posed by depleted biodiversity, pollution, et cetera are also prioritized in the common minimum program.
