Kathmandu: Main ruling coalition party Nepali Congress has called Central Working Committee meeting of the party on Sunday.
The meeting to be held at NC’s central office at 10pm this morning will discuss range of issues, including the names of the remaining four ministers to represent the party in the cabinet.
Chief secretary of central office Krishna Prasad Poudel said that whether to field NC’s candidacy or support the common candidate of the ruling coalition in the by-election of Bara-2 will be also discussed.
Nepali Congress has got the 8 ministerial portfolios in the Prachanda-Led government, with 4 ministers already having taken the oath office and secrecy. On Friday, NC formally joined the government under the leadership of Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka.
Khadka took the oath as Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister while Dr. Prakashsharan Mahat was appointed as Minister of Finance. Similarly, Ramesh Rijal is in charge of Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supply and Sita Gurung of Minister of Urban Development.
But because of intraparty dispute, NC has yet to pick the names of the ministers to lead the other portfolios.
