The Consulate General promotes Nepal tourism in New York, Aims welcoming American Tourist

New York: The Consulate General of Nepal has successfully conducted a special program, with an initiative to attract tourists to Nepal, in New York, USA.

The speakers of the program, with the slogan ‘Reimagine yourself in Nepal’, discussed the potential and challenges of tourism in Nepal at an event held in Manhattan on Thursday.

Topics related to diplomatic relations, mutual relations, interpersonal relations, public relations, goodwill, harmony, and tourism between the two countries were discussed in the program, organized on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the diplomatic relation between Nepal-America.

Acting Consul General Bishnu Prasad Gautam explained the concept of reimagining the potential of tourism in Nepal and its consequences in personality growth, community empowerment, and the tourism business. He coined Nepal as the safest tourist destination and requested US citizens to visit Nepal.

Joebert Opulencia, president of the New York Chapter of the Pacific Asia Travel Association asked the travel and tour operators to add Nepal as one of their favorite destinations due to its phenomenal natural beauty and cultural heritages. He even praised the big heart and warm hospitality of Nepalese.

Similarly, Alexander K. Hardin, New York Regional Director of the U.S. State Department Office of Foreign Missions, discussed the America-Nepal relations as well as increasing community and cultural relations between the nations. He even assured that Nepal will get continuous support from America.

Likewise, Amrit Bahadur Rai, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations in New York, talked about the possibility of Nepal developing as the international tourism hub for entertainment, and adventurous engagements including spiritual education as well as yoga for personal and commercial development.

The Keynote speaker Vanessa O’Brien, mountaineer, and six-time Guinness World Record holder as the first woman to reach extremes on land, sea, and air, spoke on Nepal’s leadership in mountaineering. She shared her experiences and unforgettable memories in Nepal. She coined Nepal as the best destination for reaching heights, seeking courage through consciousness, and exploring the limits of human potential.

Another Guest Speaker, Dr. Seth Sicroff, writer and veteran trekker coined the first successful summitting of Mt. Everest by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay drew the attention of the globe to be a decent destination for tourists.

Advocate Khagendra G.C., the Former president of NRNA America and vice president of Socialist International, said that the promotion of art, culture, and person-to-person contact would help to promote tourism in Nepal.

Alp Ozaman, New York-based regional marketing manager of Turkish Airlines, said that her company had been contributing to the tourist promotion in Nepal and assured her availability for further additional support.

Officials of the Consulate General, PATA-New York Chapter officials, media persons, and travel and tour business executives were present in the program. The program was organized in collaboration with Pacific Asia Travel Association and with the support of Chhetry & Associates law firm.
