Newly-appointed ministers sworn in

Kathmandu: Newly appointed ministers took the oath of office and secrecy at a special ceremony held at Shital Niwas on Friday.

President Ramchandra Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers after PM Dahal appointed four ministers from Nepali Congress, two from CPN (Unified Socialist) and one each from CPN (Moist Center) and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP). One minister each from Nepal Samajbadi Party, Nagarik Unmukti Party and Loktantrik Samajbadi Party also took the oath of office.

From Nepali Congress, vice president Purna Bahadur Khadka took the oath of office and secrecy as Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister and Dr. Prakashsharan  Mahat  as Finance Minister. While Ramesh Rijal was sworn in as Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supply and Sita Gurung as a Minister of Urban Development.

Likewise, Beduram Bhusal, vice chairman of the Unified -Socialist Party, took the oath of office and secrecy as the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development, and the party’s Deputy General Secretary Prakash Jwala as the Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport.

Deputy General Secretary of the Maoist Center Shakti Basnet was sworn in as the Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation while JPS’s Ashok Rai took the oath as Minister for Education, Science and Technology.

Meanwhile, the ministerial portfolio of Deputy Prime Minister Narayankaji Shrestha’s ministry has been changed. He has been appointed as Deputy Prime Minister along with the home ministerial portfolio. He was earlier appointed as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Physical Infrastructure.

Similarly, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party’s leader Sharadsingh Bhandari was sworn in as Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security, and Nagarik Unmukti Party’s leader Ranjita Shreshtha as Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation. While Nepal Samajbadi Party’s Mahindra Rai Yadav took the oath of the Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens.
