Kathmandu: Basanta Bahadur Kunwar has been appointed as the Inspector General (IG) of the Nepal Police.
A cabinet meeting promoted Additional Inspector General (AIG) Kunwar to IG on Friday.
General Administration Minister Aman Lal Modi informed that the decision was made to promote Kunwar.
His ranking was number 1 when he was promoted from District Inspector General DIG to AIG.
Kunwar succeeded in competing with Tek Prasad Rai, Deepak Thapa, Shyam Lal Gyawali, and Kiran Bajracharya to become IG.
