Sudurpaschim begins Lalitpur Mayor’s Cup with a victory

Kathmandu: Sudurpaschim Province has started the Lalitpur Mayor’s Cup T–20 cricket tournament with a victory.

Sudurpaschim defeated Lalitpur Mayor’s XI by 51 runs in the opening match of the tournament held in T.U. International Cricket Ground on Thursday.

Lalitpur failed to chase the target of 137 runs, given by Sudurpaschim. Lalitpur was able to make only 86 runs by losing 7 wickets in 20 overs.

Laxmi Chaudhary contributed 25 runs whereas Helisha made 19 runs for Lalipur. Ritu Kanoujiya for Sudurpaschim succeeded to take 2 wickets.

Likewise, Sudurpaschim batted first. The team playing 20 overs lost 3 wickets to make 137 runs.

Samjhana Khadka, being not out, hit six fours on 45 balls to contribute 51 runs for the team. She completed her half-century on 44 balls by hitting 4 sixes.

Rubi Poddar made 28 and Kabita Joshi, being not out, made 27 runs for the team. Kritika Marasaini took 2 and Sony Pakhrin took 1 wicket for Lalitpur.
