Attack attempt on CPN leader Angbo

Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Centre) Koshi Province Parliamentary leader Indra Bahadur Angbo has been a victim of an attack.

An unidentified attacker(s) has attempted Angbo showing their disappointment towards the naming of Province 1 as Koshi.

The vehicle of Angbo suffered minor damages in the attack. DSP Rajan Limbu from District Police Office Taplejung said that the culprit had not been identified.

Stones had been thrown at the vehicle of Angbo. The incident took place about 7-8 kilometers below the Fungling market. The police are investigating to find the attacker.

The naming of Province 1 as Koshi has triggered a number of groups to protest against the decision. The identitarian protest has caused similar incidents and a few violent incidents in the past few days.

Previously, Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki in Okhaldhunga also became a victim of the protest on Monday.
