PM Dahal seeking vote of confidence today

Kathmandu: PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal is seeking a vote of confidence today. PM Dahal will seek a vote of confidence today at 1 pm in the House of Representatives.

PM Dahal took a vote of confidence in Poush 26 previously. He succeeded to gain 99.25 percent votes at that time.

CPN (UML) had given the vote of confidence to PM Dahal during that time. But the tables have turned at the moment. CPN has become the main opposition party in the parliament.

Likewise, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RaPraPa) and Nepal Mazdoor Kisan Party (NeMaKiPa) are also in opposition.

PM Dahal is expecting support from other parties. He needs a total of 138 votes to continue his tenure as PM.

CPN (Maoist Center) along with Nepali Congress, Rastriya Swatantra Party, CPN (Integrated Socialists), Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), Rastriya Swatantra Party, CPN (Ekikrit Samajwadi), Janata Samajwadi Party, Loktantrik Samajwaadi Party,Nagarik Unmukti Party, Janmat Party, Rashtriya Jan Morcha are in the support of PM Dahal.Independent MPs Prabhu Shah and Amresh Kumar Singh will also give a vote of confidence to Dahal.

How many votes do the respective parties have?

1.Nepali Congress 86 [Out of 89 Ramchandra Poudel was elected as President, Chandra Bhandari ill, and Tek Bahadur Gurung on suspension]

2. CPN (Maoist Center) 31[Out of 32 Barsha Man Pun ill]

3. JSP 10 [Out of 12 Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav was elected as Vice-President and demise of Shahnaj Rehman]

4. Rastriya Swatantra Party 19 [Out of 20 Chairman Rabi Lamichhane dismissed from the post of MP]

5. Ekikrit Samajwadi 10

6. Janamat Party 6

7. Loktantric Samajwadi Party 4

8. Nagarik Unmukti 4

9. Rastriya Janamorcha 1

10. Independent MPs Prabhu Shah and Amresh Kumar Singh

This means PM Dahal currently has a total of 173 votes. This is 62 percent. Regardless of the data, PM Dahal has shared the optimistic belief of getting 100 percent of the vote of confidence. After a meeting on Sunday, PM Dahal said, ‘All the parties will vote for me.’
