Kathmandu: Prime Minister PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal succeeded to get a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives meeting.
172 MPs voted in favor whereas 89 members voted against PM Dahal and one MP did not participate in the vote of confidence that concluded on Monday. A total of 262 MPs was present.
Other political parties expect CPN (UML) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party voted for PM Dahal. MP Prem Suwal from Nepal Mazdoor Kisan Party stayed neutral.
CPN (Maoist Centre), Nepali Congress, Rastriya Swatantra, Janata Samajwadi, Ekikrit Samajwadi, Loktantrik Samajwadi, Janamat, Nagarik Unmukti, Rastriya Janamorcha and Aam Janata Party voted for PM Dahal.
The independent MPs Amresh Kumar Singh, Prabhu Shah, and Yogendra Mandal voted for PM Dahal.
PM Dahal had taken a 99 percent vote of confidence in Poush 26 (January 10) in the past. He had to go for another vote of confidence after CPM (UML), Rastriya Swatantra Party and Rastriya Prajatantra Party pulled out of government.
