Koshi Province protest: 4 arrested, Police chose firing to control the crowd

Kathmandu: The police have arrested 4 protestors who entered a restricted area near Chief Minister’s Office during an identitarian protest in Biratnagar.

The protestors have been demanding the name of the province must be based on its identification.

Protestors, who had entered the restricted area, were demanding to rename ‘Koshi’ province. The police fired a dozen of tear gas cells and 3 rounds of air fire to take control of the crowd.

A few groups have been protesting after the Provincial Parliament named the province Koshi on 1st March (Falgun 17).
